Peña and Kahn, PLLC a personal injury litigation law firm located in the Bronx, NY is looking to hire a Spanish interpreter. The interpreter coordinates and provides interpreting for staff and limited-English speaking clients in order to facilitate good communication. The interpreter will also provide sight translation of documents, including but not limited to, consent forms and court documents. The interpreter must be able to work well under pressure and react quickly to solve complex linguistic and ethical problems as they arise. The interpreter is to interpret in an accurate and complete manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate accurate ability to interpret verbally and transcribe written information in the Spanish and English
2. Adjusts to changing situations and work assignments
3. Collaborate with peers, attorneys, and support staff
4. Recognizes and respects social, cultural and religious beliefs and practices in the provision of care.

Qualifications:

1. Native Speaker fluency in Spanish
2. Exceptional oral and written communication skills (both languages)
3. Minimum 2 years of interpreting experience
4. Well versed in legal terminology
5. Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation and polite expressions.
6. Customer welcoming attitude
