Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking a Monitor Technician to support Marshfield Clinic Health System – Marshfield Children’s, a Wisconsin-based pediatric provider within an integrated health system serving central and northern Wisconsin. In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative, patient-first care team, continuously observing and interpreting pediatric and occasional adult cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters for patients on centralized monitoring. The Monitor Technician is responsible for accurately placing and verifying telemetry orders in the system, setting alarm parameters according to established standards, recognizing and documenting dysrhythmias, and promptly notifying nursing and provider staff of significant rhythm changes or life-threatening events. You will maintain clear, timely communication with bedside nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians to support safe, high-quality care for children and families. Daily duties include verifying lead placement with bedside staff, ensuring accurate patient identification on monitors, labeling and updating monitor assignments, troubleshooting equipment issues, and escalating technical problems to biomedical or IT services as appropriate. You will follow strict infection prevention, privacy, and safety protocols, maintain accurate logs, rhythm strips, and event documentation in the electronic health record, and assist with collecting, organizing, and reporting monitoring data for quality and performance improvement initiatives. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfort working with electronic health records and monitoring software.
