Overview As part of our Architecture practice at HDR, this Landscape Design Coordinator role will support the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well‑being worldwide. Working under the direction of a registered Landscape Architect, you will assist in developing site‑design projects from concept through construction documentation, and provide design and production support across all phases. Responsibilities Assist the Landscape Architect in developing site‑design projects from concept design to construction documentation. Investigate and analyze site variables such as site analysis, building operations, vehicular and pedestrian traffic, site grading, and storm drainage to meet project objectives. Conduct site visits and analyses, and support illustration of design concepts using hand‑drawn and computer‑rendered graphics. Provide AutoCAD production support during concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation phases. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with AutoCAD, LandFX, Revit, Environment, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Internship or prior work experience as a Landscape Designer or in a construction‑industry role. Strong hand illustration, drafting, and visual communication skills. Design sensibility that incorporates creativity, curiosity, research, and confidence in iterative concept exploration across multiple platforms. Understanding of technical aspects of landscape architecture, including construction materials and processes; grading, drainage, and site utility fundamentals; plant materials; and California water‑use regulations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering. Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to prepare site plans and understand grading and drainage principles. Strong oral and written communication skills.
