UF Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) to join our Leesburg Cath Lab on the day shift in a full-time role. As part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment. Working collaboratively with interventional cardiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will support diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, vascular interventions, and related invasive cardiovascular studies. In this role, you will prepare patients and procedure rooms for cardiac cath lab cases, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available, calibrated, and functioning properly. You will assist during procedures by operating imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, maintaining accurate real-time documentation, and supporting the physician with contrast injections, catheter exchanges, and other technical aspects within your scope of practice. You will adhere strictly to sterile technique, infection control standards, and radiation safety protocols while monitoring patient status and responding promptly to changes in condition. The CVT in the Leesburg Cath Lab will be responsible for accurately recording and interpreting hemodynamic data, recognizing abnormalities, and communicating findings promptly to the care team. You will monitor ECGs, vital signs, and procedural events, documenting them thoroughly in the electronic medical record and cath lab systems. You will assist in emergency situations such as arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, or cardiac arrest by supporting ACLS-level interventions as directed by the physician and registered nurse. This position requires a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and education. You will help explain procedures, answer questions within your professional scope, and support patients and families throughout the peri-procedural experience. You will participate in patient transport to and from the cath lab, verify patient identity and procedure details, and assist with post-procedure monitoring and equipment removal under the direction of the RN and provider. Attention to detail, clear communication, and effective teamwork are essential.
