Apprentice Industrial Controls Electrician

The Apprentice Industrial Controls Electrician supports Journeyman Electricians, Controls Technicians, and Engineers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and controls systems across large-scale commercial and industrial job sites, including airport environments.

This role is designed for individuals who are serious about building a long-term career in the electrical and industrial controls trade. Apprentices will receive hands-on exposure to real field work while developing the foundational skills required to advance toward journeyman-level responsibilities.

This is a full-time, hourly position that may require frequent travel (up to 90%) depending on project needs. Work environments may include active construction zones, operating facilities, and secure job sites.

All employment offers are contingent upon:

• Passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including a 10-year FBI background check
• Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship

PWC's Apprentice Electrician Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, modification, and maintenance of electrical systems under the direction of licensed Journeyman Electricians and Controls Leads
• Support job site setup, organization, material staging, and cleanup to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
• Pull wire and cable, bend and install conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC, etc.), and assist with trenching or manual excavation when required
• Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficiently
• Learn to read and interpret basic electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
• Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and applicable electrical codes
• Work closely with Journeymen and Project Leads to learn proper installation methods, troubleshooting basics, and job site expectations
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good working condition
• Represent the company professionally and provide quality service on all job sites

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 13 years of experience in electrical work, construction, industrial maintenance, or a related field
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the electrical or industrial trades
• Basic understanding of electrical safety practices
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team

Physically capable of:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Comfortable working in confined spaces, overhead, and at heights
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on feet for extended periods
• Willingness to work in environments with varying temperatures (hot and cold)
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and stairs
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Preferred qualifications:

• Enrollment in, or interest in enrolling in, an electrical apprenticeship or trade school program
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Prior exposure to commercial, airport, or industrial job sites
• Familiarity with basic hand tools such as drills, pliers, screwdrivers, and multimeters
• OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
