Responsibilities Managing restricted and unrestricted funds; monitoring and monthly reconciliation of indexes; preparing and updating monthly financial statements and projection reports; processing financial transactions such as labor redistributions, journal vouchers, and requisitions. The Accountant I is responsible for the timely review and approval of department transactions such as P‑Card reconciliations, reimbursements, requisitions, understanding and answering questions regarding allowable purchasing and reimbursements, and reviewing Chrome River reports and P‑Card statements to ensure compliance. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 9 credit hours of university‑level accounting through intermediate accounting; no previous experience required. Preferred Qualifications BA in Accounting or Finance Proficient in MS Excel Experience working in a University setting Ability to communicate effectively at different levels of an organization Conditions of Employment If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
