Project Overview
The project was commissioned to create a set of professionally designed gift vouchers for a modern lifestyle brand. The aim was to develop designs that not only reflected the brand’s contemporary image but also made the act of giving and receiving vouchers feel more special and thoughtful. The collection needed to work seamlessly across both digital and printed formats, catering to a broad demographic.

Objective
The primary goal was to design four visually distinct gift vouchers that could:
- Enhance perceived value and professionalism.
- Communicate important information clearly (value, validity, redemption process).
- Appeal emotionally to customers, making the voucher feel like a curated gift rather than a simple transaction.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between playful creativity and professional polish. The vouchers needed to feel vibrant and unique without losing a sense of refinement.
Another challenge was maintaining visual consistency across multiple designs, while giving each voucher its own distinct personality. It was important that they worked together as a collection but could also stand on their own.
Clear readability was critical. Key information like voucher value, expiration date, and redemption details had to be instantly recognizable, even at a quick glance. Lastly, the designs needed to evoke a sense of gifting — not simply resemble standard discount coupons.
Solution
Four voucher styles were created to meet these goals. One design used playful color blocks and organic shapes to bring a sense of lively energy. Another adopted a handwritten, artistic style for a more personal, approachable feel. A third went bold with sharp red geometric angles, creating urgency and excitement. The final design kept things clean and modern with a minimalist blue theme, focused on clarity and trust.
To tie the collection together, we harmonized bright and muted color palettes for brand flexibility. A clear typography hierarchy was used to highlight essential information. Layouts were built to adapt across both digital and print formats, ensuring the design integrity stayed strong in every use.
Outcome
The gift voucher project helped strengthen the brand’s positioning, presenting it as modern, customer-centered, and premium. Customers responded positively to the designs, describing them as attractive and genuinely “gift-worthy”, which led to an increase in voucher purchases. Additionally, the designs offered strong operational flexibility, working seamlessly across physical stores, online checkouts, and promotional emails while maintaining consistent visual branding throughout.
Conclusion
The gift voucher project successfully married aesthetic appeal with functional clarity. By creating designs that customers genuinely wanted to give and receive, the project not only fulfilled its immediate goals but also strengthened the brand’s emotional connection with its audience. This case further underscores the importance of design thinking when creating even the simplest brand touchpoints.

“We were extremely happy with how the vouchers turned out. The balance between creativity and clarity was spot on. We especially appreciated how easy it was for our customers to understand and redeem the vouchers. We’ve already seen a noticeable increase in voucher purchases!”
